OBITUARY: Hubert, David and Linda Elliott Rhines, Mitchell County, Iowa (1966) FAMILY OF THREE DIED IN HIGHWAY MISHAP; FUNERAL AT RICEVILLE Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Riceville for a family of three, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Rhines, 31 and 26 years respectively and their son David 3, all of whom lost their lives outright in a collision between their car and a semi trailer. The accident took place Saturday northeast of Rochester. Burial was at Riverside cemetery, Riceville. Chisholm Funeral Home made the arrangements. (April 7, 1966) The Rev. Charles Kirtley, pastor of the Baptist church in Riceville was assisted in the service by the Rev. C. W. Oscarson of Des Moines, a friend of the family. The Rhines family had been residents of Circle Pines, Minn. for 18 months. Linda Elliott was born in Riceville March 18, 1940, the daughter of Floyd and Grace Templeton Elliott of Riceville. She was graduated from Riceville high school in 1958. Other survivors include her sister, Mrs. Galen Hansen of McIntire; one brother, Lee Elliott, of Riceville; and her grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Brill, resident at the Osage Nursing Home. Her husband was born in Fayette in 1935. Their marriage took place at the Lutheran church in LeRoy in November, 1960. He is survived by his father, Glenn of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Debra of Westby, Wis., by a previous marriage; two sisters, Mrs. John Temeyer of Independence, Linda Marie Rhines of West Union and a brother, Paul of Ellyn, Ill. David Rhines was born April 26, 1962. Mr. Rhines was a welder and was employed by a Minneapolis firm at the time of his death.
