OBITUARY: Minnie Cecilia (Schmidt) Rogers, Mitchell County, Iowa (circa 1965-66) FUNERAL TODAY FOR MRS. MINNIE ROGERS Funeral services will be held this morning at 10:30 o'clock for a lifelong Mitchell county resident, Mrs. Minnie Rogers, 81, who died Sunday at Mitchell County Memorial hospital. Mrs. Rogers became ill at her home and was admitted to the hospital earlier in the day Sunday. The Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Conroy and the Rev. Lloyd Reuter, pastors, will be in charge of the services at Sacred Heart Catholic church. Arrangements are being made by C. R. Champion and Sons. Burial will be the church cemetery. Minnie Cecilia Schmidt was born at Mitchell, Dec. 10, 1884, the daughter of Carl and Josephine Hovermann Schmidt. She attended the Mitchell schools and was graduated from high school there. Her marriage to J. A. (Bert) Rogers took place Sept. 15, 1903, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. J. P. Martin was in charge. They established their home on a farm near Mitchell. Mrs. Rogers was an active member of the Catholic Church, taking part in the work of the Guild and the sewing circle. She was also a member of Unity Study Club of Mitchell and Flora May Tuttle Naturalist club of Osage. Surviving are here children; John F. Rogers, Bernard E. Rogers and Mrs. Harold Schultheis, Erna, of Osage; Mrs. Louis Howe, Romona of Butte, Mont.; Mrs. Robert Kleckner, Frances, of St. Ansgar; 26 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Helen Schmidt and Mrs. Frances Johnson, Osage. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, her parents, two children in infancy; one granddaughter, Mrs. Mary Hemann, one sister, Mrs. William Belz, Ida, of St. Ansgar, and one brother, Frank Schmidt.
