OBITUARY: Virginia Schrandt, Mitchell County, Iowa [Mitchell County Press-News, online, www.mcpress.com, Posted May 1, 2002] Virginia Schrandt Funeral services for Virginia Schrandt, 52, of Stacyville will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, May 2, 2002 at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating. Interment will take place at the Visitation Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 7:30 pm Wednesday with a rosary at 3 pm and a scripture service at 7 pm at the Visitation Catholic Church. Virginia died Sunday, April 28 at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 6, 1949 in Osage, IA to Wilfred and Rita Niess Schrandt. She attended Visitation grade school and graduated from Marian High School in 1968. She worked at Easter Seal in Mason City and Cedar Valley Rehabilitation in Austin, MN. Virginia worked in the housekeeping department at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home until ill health caused her to retire. She became a resident of the home in September 2000. Virginia was a member of the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters and the American legion Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her father, her maternal grandparents and her paternal grandparents. Survivors include her mother, Rita of Stacyville, two brothers, Dick and his wife Susan of Caldwell, ID and Charles and his wife Beverly, South St. Paul, MN, one sister Marie and her husband Kelly Hendrix of Caldwell, ID, three nephews, Christian and Michael Schrandt, Nathan Schrandt and four nieces, Krista and her husband Jesse Naymik, Kara Schrandt and Allison and Claire Hendrix.
