OBITUARY: George Walk, Mitchell County, Iowa GEORGE WALK FUNERAL HELD Funeral services for George Walk, 48, of Little Cedar, who died following a heart attack at St. Olaf hospital, Austin, February 26, 1966 were held March 1 at the Little Cedar Methodist church with Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. George Walk was born in Hanlontown January, 9, 1918, the son of Henry and Louise (Junkemeier) Walk. He grew to manhood in the Northwood Kensett area, and was baptized and attended church at the Evangelical United Brethern church in Bolan. On February 23, 1941 he married Dorothy Luth at St. John's Lutheran parsonage in Mason City. Two sons were born to this union, Larry of Little Cedar and Duane of Osage. The Walks recently celebrated their silver wedding anniversary in St. Ansgar. The Walks farmed in the Northwood area until 1948 when they moved to their present home near Little Cedar. Besides his wife, Dorothy and two sons, he is survived by three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Albert (Martha) Dittburner, Sheffield; Mrs. Freida Imgamells of St. Ansgar; Mrs. Laverne (Prudence) Wilde, Osage; John of Charles City and Paul of Kensett; also 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant sister and his parents. Burial was in the Little Cedar cemetery with Rev. Brockmeyer in charge of the committal services.
