OBITUARY: Barbara Joyce Olson Wright 1956-2002, Mitchell County, Iowa [Mitchell County Press-News, online, www.mcpress.com, Posted Oct. 9, 2002] Barbara Joyce Wright Funeral services for Barbara Joyce Wright, 46, of Osage were held Saturday, October 5, 2002 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage. The Reverend Dennis Hanson and Reverend Roy Ott officiated. Cremation followed the services. Barbara died Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was born February 12, 1956, in Osage, the daughter of Muriel Jeffries and Lionel Olson. She was educated in Osage schools and graduated from Osage High School in 1974. She then attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated from the Waterloo College of Men's Hairstyling. Barbara was united in marriage to Herbert Wright on October 27, 1979, at the United Methodist Church in Osage. They made their home in Osage, where she owned and operated a barbershop until the birth of their son Chris. She was employed at Fox River Mills for several years and was a homemaker the past 12 years. In 2000 Barbara returned to complete her education at NIACC. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, PEO, the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary. The family requests that memorials be given to the Barbara Wright Memorial Fund. Preceding Barbara in death were her grandparents and an uncle. She is survived by her husband Herb Wright of Osage, her mother Muriel Jeffries of Naples, FL, her father, Lionel Olson of Osage, her daughter Cassandra Wright of Osage, her son Christopher Wright of Osage, five brothers Douglas Olson and his wife Linda of Waterloo, Richard Olson and his wife Carol of Waterloo, Jeffrey Olson and his wife Lory of Hutchinson, MN, William Olson of Hutchinson, MN, James Olson of Chicago, IL, three nieces and two nephews.
