OBITUARY: Bessie Marie Peterson Bodsberg, 1899-1981, Mitchell County, Iowa [St. Ansgar Enterprise, 2 APR 1981] Mrs. Bessie Bodsberg Funeral Held At Mona Lutheran Church Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie M. Bodsberg, 81, who died March 20, were held March 24 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Gaylord Grant and the Rev. Roger Camerer officiating. Bessie Marie Bodsberg was born April 15, 1889 [newspaper did say 1889, but this should probably be 1899] in Heron Lake, Minn., the daughter of Emil and Laurena (Johanson) Peterson. She was one of 14 children. She was baptized July 10, 1899 and confirmed July 6, 1913 in Heron Lake Lutheran church. She attended school in Heron Lake. She married Alfred G. Eggestein April 25, 1917, and they lived and farmed in Petersburg township. They later moved to the Rose Creek area. Seven children were born to them. Mr. Eggestein died April 18, 1935. She married Nils Bodsberg July 7, 1940 and they made their home in Faribault, Minn. After Mr. Bodsberg’s death in May of 1970, Mrs. Bodsberg moved to Lyle where she resided at Heritage Manor until her death. Mrs. Bodsberg was an active member of the Mona Lutheran church and church organizations. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. LeRoy (Mina) Johnson of Lyle; Mrs. Walter (Aline) Camerer of Austin, Minn. and Mrs. Eugene (Pearl) Hansen of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; one son, Leo Eggestein of Huntsville, Ark.; 28 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; two brothers, Garland Peterson of Jackson, Minn. and Everett Peterson of Windom, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, three sisters, eight brothers, two daughters and one son, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Burial was in Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.
