OBITUARY: Ralph P. Brumm, 1924-2003, Mitchell Co., Iowa [ Mitchell County Press-News online -- MCP Posted Mar. 5, 2003 ] Ralph P. Brumm Funeral services for Ralph P. Brumm, 78, of Osage were held Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. The Reverend Philip Recker officiated. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage. Ralph died Saturday, March 1, 2003 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Ralph Brumm was born April 11, 1924 in Stacyville, the son of Joseph and Sophia (Halbach) Brumm. He was educated and graduated from Visitation High School in Stacyville in 1941. Ralph was united in marriage to Evelyn May on August 7, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer, IA. They farmed near Stacyville until 1954 when they moved to a farm west of Osage, farming there until 1963. Ralph was a co-owner and operator of Brumm & Canny Livestock until 1971. He then drove semi for Mitchell Transport in Mason City for 15 years. In retirement he was custodian for Home Trust and Savings Bank in Osage. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Martha Weber, Genevieve Lindberg, Mary Ann Kleespies, Adelaide Brumm; andbrothers: Edward, Herbert and Albert. His survivors include his wife Evelyn Brumm of Osage; three sons Michael (Janet) Brumm of Wayne, NE; Loren (Margaret) Brumm of Iowa City; Tom (Heather) Brumm of Ames, seven daughters Lois (Rick) Przywojski of LaCrosse, WI; Cheryl Davis of Des Moines; Mary (Michael) Hughes of Brooklyn Center, MN; Susan (Philippe) Fortin of Seekonk, MA;Jeri (Bryan) Wheeler of Savage, MN; Barbara (Larry) Vareberg of Rochester, MN; Janelle (David) Kerr of Des Moines; two brothers: Clarence Brumm of Osage and Othmar Brumm of Stacyville;one sister Joan Dworschak of Champaign, IL and 23 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sacred Heart School in Osage or Catholic Charities. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home (641) 732-3706 had charge of arrangements.
