OBITUARY: Sr. Mary Cordelia, (Catharine Adams), 1887-1964, Mitchell Co., Iowa

                           SR. MARY CORDELIA

STACYVILLE - Funeral services for Sister Mary Cordelia, OSF. a member of
the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Family for
58 years was held at Mount St. Francis, Dubuque. (Oct. 1964)

Sister Mary Cordelia was the former Catherine Adams, daughter of Mathias
and Christina Hachenmiller Adams.  She was born in Meyer, June 17, 1887.
She entered Mount St. Francis noviatiate from Visitation Parish Stacyville,
Sept. 15, 1905, and made her first profession of vows June 14, 1908.

Sister Cordelia took care of the altars of Mount St. Francis chapel
23 years.  She was also missioned at Lora College, Sacred Heart Hospital,
LeMars, and at St. Francis Home until ill health caused her retirement.

She is survived by two sisters, Sister Mary Cora, O.S.F. Niles, Ill.; and
Mrs. Joseph Niess, Stacyville; and two brothers, Alfons Adam, Stacyville;
and Anton Adams, Edgar, Wis. Four brothers and one preceded her in death.
