OBITUARY: Elaine K. (Eggen) Thompson, 1932-1981, Mitchell County, Iowa [St. Ansgar Enterprise, 30 APR 1981] Elaine K. Thompson Funeral Held Monday, April 13 Funeral services for Mrs. Elaine K. Thompson, 48, of Caledonia, Minn., who died April 10 at the Caledonia hospital, were held April 13 at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Caledonia with the Rev. Rolf Storlie officiating. Services were also held that afternoon at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church, rural Lyle, with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating. Elaine Eggen Thompson was born December 21, 1932 near Lyle, the daughter of Walter and Clarise (Hanson) Eggen. She was baptized and confirmed in Six Mile Grove Lutheran church and was a graduate of Lyle high school. She worked as a telephone operator, parish secretary in Lyle and legal secretary in Austin before attending Luther College, Decorah. Also she was a parish worker in Calvary Lutheran church in Haina, Hawaii. She married Harold Thompson July 12, 1957 in Six Mile Grove Lutheran church. Two children were born to them. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, Harold; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Eggen of Lyle; one son, Jeffrey Thompson; and one daughter, Julie Thompson, both of Winona, Minn.; one sister, Beverly Lee of Mankato, Minn.; nieces and nephews. Burial was in Six Mile Grove Lutheran cemetery. CORRECTION: In the obituary of Mrs. Elaine K. Thompson in last week's Enterprise, one of her survivors, a brother, Merle Eggen of Milwaukee, Wis., was omitted.
