OBITUARY: Arthur C. Hansen, 1899-1980, Mitchell County, Iowa [St. Ansgar Enterprise, 9 OCT 1980] Arthur C. Hansen Funeral Held Monday, September 29 Funeral services for Arthur C. Hansen, 81, who died at his home in Osage September 25, were held September 29 at Our Savior’s Lutheran church in Osage with the Rev. Joseph Nesheim officiating. Arthur C. Hansen was born March 3, 1899 in St. Ansgar, the son of Niss and Marie (Carlsen) Hansen. He was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar, and attended the Spring Valley rural school and St. Ansgar high school. Marie Denning and Arthur Hansen were married October 25, 1926. They established their home on the family farm near St. Ansgar, retiring to their present home in Osage in 1956. He continued to be active in farm work until the time of his brief illness. Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife, Marie; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvan (Leora) Stromley of Lyle and Mrs. Darwin (Lanita) Koster of St. Ansgar; two sons, Arthur Dean Hansen of St. Ansgar and Commander Duane Alan Hansen, DDS, of Fredericksburg, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one sister, May Wilson of Cedar Rapids. Preceding him in death were his parents and one son-in-law, Loy Enerson. Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery with Rev. Nesheim in charge of the committal services.
