OBITUARY: Nettie Maakestad, Mitchell County, Iowa

                  NETTIE MAAKESTAD, 96, DIED MONDAY
(circa 1965 ??)

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for one of Osage's senior
citizens.  Mrs. Nellie Maakestad, 96, who died Monday at Mitchell County
Memorial hospital. Mrs. Maakestad had been in good health until Sunday
afternoon when she suffered a severe stroke.  She was taken to the hospital
and died the following morning.

The Rev. Donald Berg, church pastor, was in charge of the services at Rock
Creek Lutheran church, where she maintained her membership.  C. R. Champion
and Sons made the arrangements and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
