OBITUARY: Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Nack, 1890-1981, Mitchell County, Iowa [St. Ansgar Enterprise, 21 MAY 1981] Carl F. Nack Funeral Held Wednesday, May 13 Funeral services for Carl F. Nack, 90, of Osage, who died May 10, were held May 13 at Our Savior's Lutheran church, Osage, with the Rev. Joseph Nesheim and the Rev. Harold Larsen officiating. Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Nack was born in Worth county September 19, 1890, the son of Frank and Matilda (Bork) Nack. He was baptized October 5, 1890 by the Rev. D. Nitardy and confirmed April 2, 1905 by the Rev. John Landdeck at Emmanuel Lutheran church, Grafton. He attended school in Grafton after which he enlisted in the National Guard and served in the U.S. Army in World War I. Following his service he farmed in Rock township east of Grafton. He married Esther Tesch November 4, 1920 in St. John’s Lutheran church, Rock township. They farmed on the same farm 37 years before moving to Osage in 1957. Five children were born to them. Mr. Nack was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran church, Grafton, where he served on the church board. Later when they moved to Osage he became a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran church. He is survived by his wife, Esther; one son, Gene of Grafton; three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Gertrude) Kroneman of Charles City, Mrs. Lloyd (Ruth) Beneke of Long Prairie, Minn. and Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Schroeder of St. Ansgar; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd Nack of Osage. Mr. Nack was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Mrs. Darrold (Alpha) Walling and one grandson in infancy; two brothers, Rinold Nack of Nora Springs and Ed Nack of Anaheim, Calif. Burial was in Osage cemetery with Rev. Nesheim and Rev. Larsen in charge of the committal services. Military rites were by the honor squad of Post 258 of the American Legion.
