OBITUARY: Margaret J. (Johnson) Olsen, 1926-2003, Mitchell County, Iowa

Funeral services for Margaret J. Olsen, age 76, of Osage were held at
1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in
Osage. Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiated. Interment was in
the Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Osage.  Margaret died Sunday, January 12,
2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Margaret J. Olsen was born March 19, 1926 on the family farm west of
Carpenter, IA, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Parker) Johnson. She
graduated from Orchard High School in 1943 and then attended Hamilton 
Business School in Mason City. She worked as a secretary for Seig Auto.

Margaret was united in marriage to Lowell Olsen on Oct. 12, 1946 at Rock
Creek Lutheran Church, rural Osage. They farmed for six years and then
purchased Olsen Implement in Osage  where they lived their entire married
life. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, where
she was an ac tive member in the Eve Circle, the Church Choir and she
had been an officer in the women's group.

Margaret enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchild and
attending all of their activities including sports, music and other
extra-curricular activities.

Those preceding her in death include her parents, one son Jon Olsen, one
sister and husband, Florence and Alvy Borcherding, two brothers, Kenneth
Johnson and Dale Johnson, sister-in-law and husband Beatrice and Clyndon
Gast, sister-in-law Daisy Olsen and brother-in-law LaVern Schallock.

Margaret is survived by her husband Lowell Olsen of Osage, two daughters
Marcia Taeger and husband Keith of West Burlington and their children
Vincent Taeger and wife Kelli, Gretchen Harkness and husband Chris and
their son Samuel, Nicole Taeger, Diane Kleckner and husband Larry of
Audubon and their children Linsey Petersen and husband Perry, Allison
Ullestad and husband Erik, Laura Kleckner, three sons Jim Olsen and wife
Beth of Osage and their children Jacob Olsen, Sarah Olsen, Meg Olsen and
Alex Olsen, Jeff Olsen and wife Jayne of Osage and their children Josalyn
Olsen, Jessica Olsen and Jaydon Olsen, Jay Olsen and his wife Sheila of
Osage and their children Amber Olsen, Autumn Olsen, Trever Olsen and
Ashley Olsen, four brothers Charlie Johnson and wife Betty of Osage,
Ivan Johnson and wife Kathy of Osage, Harley Johnson and wife Clarissa
of Osage, Keith Johnson and wife Jackie of Fort Dodge, four sisters,
Eleanor Schallock of Osage, Mildred Sponheim and husband Norman of Osage,
Carol McLaughlin and hus
band Al of Belmond, Sharon Boyce and husband Jim of Roseville, MN, two
sister-in-laws Marge Johnson of Osage, Francis Johnson of Osage and one
brother-in-law LaVerne Olsen of Osage.
