OBITUARY: Frank August Pahl, 1848-1917, Mitchell County, Iowa [Source: Mitchell County Press-News or Mason City Globe Gazette] OBITUARY-PAHL Frank August Pahl was born Aug. 29, 1848, at Gr. Schlatikow, Pommerania, Germany, and also baptized and confirmed at this place. In 1868 he came to America making his home at Watertown Wis., and coming to Mitchell County the following year. July 27, 1875, he was married to Augusta Bruesewitz. This union was blessed with four children, one of them dying in infancy. In 1884 his wife, also preceded him in death. May 25, 1895, he was married to Louisa Rhode. Five children were born to them, one of them dying in childhood. About three years ago, he came to St. Ansgar spending most of his days at home as an invalid with rheumatism. Last Saturday he suffered a stroke of paralysis and without regaining his consciousness he died at noon. He had reached the age of 68 years, 6 months and 25 days, and leaves to mourn his demise, his widow, four children and six grandchildren. The funeral was held on Tuesday with services at the G.L. church, and interment was made at the city cemetery, the Rev. Brammer officiating. (March 17, 1917).
