OBITUARY: Arthur Penney, Mitchell County, Iowa [Source: Mitchell County Press-News or Mason City Globe Gazette] Death of Arthur Penney The death of Mr. Arthur Penney, of Stacyville, last Saturday morning takes away one of the oldest and most respected citizens of that community. He was a son of William and Elizabeth Penney, and born at Dorsetshire, England, one of a family of fourteen children. At the age of twenty-one he came with his parents to Wisconsin, and in 1858 they moved to this county. He had reached the advanced age of seventy-two years, being the oldest of the living members of his father's family. There are six brothers and one sister left, the later being Mrs. Stover of this city. John and Henry, two of the brothers, also live here, the other about Stacyville. He leaves a wife and seven children besides a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was a man of upright life and a member of the M. E. church. The funeral services were held on Sunday from the M. E. church of Stacyville and conducted by Rev. H. S. Bargeit. (Jan. 17, 1895.)
