On the 31st of December, 1893, she was received into the M. E. church, where she was an active member of the League and Woman's Foreign Missionary society. This song that she sang most was "We have an Anchor that keeps the soul steadfast and sure while the billows roll" and it gave her comfort and courage, to the end. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Her pastor, Rev. B. D. Smith, preached the sermon to a large audience of relatives and friends.
