OBITUARY: Mrs. Lucina E. Welch, 1843-1910, Mitchell County, Iowa WELCH Mrs. Lucina E. Welch, wife of Cyrus Welch, was born in the month of April, 1843, in Wellington, Me., and died at St. Barnabas hospital, Minneapolis, on December 17, 1910. It was on February 15, 1862, that she was united in marriage to Mr. Cyrus F. Welch and after living at Wellington a short time they moved to Wisconsin where they remained for about six years. They then came to Mitchell county, locating on a farm about six miles east of Orchard, which was their home until 1884, when they removed to Minneapolis. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Welch, seven daughters and four sons, all of whom except one son who died at the age of nine years and the bereaved husband survive. Three of the daughters, Mrs. George Godfrey, Mrs. Wm. Hudson and Mrs. Robert Godfred reside in this county, the others have homes of their in Minneapolis except one daughter who remained with her parents. Mrs. Welch enjoyed a wide circle of friends and was held in highest esteem by all who knew her. The floral offerings at her funeral were profuse and beautiful. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 10, from her late residence, 2931 Pillsbury Avenue, and the body was laid to rest in Lakewood cemetery.
