OBITUARY: Alda Helen Minnie Ahrens Krahn Clausen, 1914-2003, Mitchell Co., IA [ Mitchell County Press-News online - Posted June 4, 2003 ] Alda Krahn Clausen Funeral services for Alda Krahn Clausen, age 89, of Osage were held Monday, June 2, 2003 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage. The Reverend Christian F. Gugel officiated. Interment was in the Osage Cemetery in Osage. Alda passed away Friday, May 30, 2003 at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Alda Helen Minnie Ahrens was born May 14, 1914 on the family farm west of Osage, the daughter of Richard and Alma (Frese) Ahrens. She was baptized June 7, 1914 and confirmed on August 25, 1929 at St. Johns Lutheran Church south of Osage. Alda married Elroy Krahn on January 8, 1935. They had four children. Elroy passed away October 10, 1956. On August 6, 1977 Alda married Claus Clausen from Mason City and they lived there until his death December 12, 1993. Later that year she moved back to Osage. Alda loved to cook, take care of her family and spend time with her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her two husbands and one infant sister, Erna. Alda's survivors include her four children, three sons, Richard Krahn and his wife Rosella of Osage; Gene Krahn and his wife Katrena, also of Osage; Ronald Krahn and his wife Suzanne of Nora Springs; one daughter, Myrna Hoisington and her husband Howard of Orchard; 11 grandchildren, one step granddaughter, 14 great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren; one brother Earl Ahrens of Osage; four step children, Delmar Clausen and wife Violet, Janice Atkinson, Donna Lawson and Margie Nashiem and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
