Funeral services for Duane Dean Bublitz, 67, of St. Ansgar were held
December 2, 2003 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa, with
Rev. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran
Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Duane died Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Center, in
St. Ansgar, Iowa. 

Duane Dean Bublitz was born on November 2, 1936 in Newburg Township,
Mitchell County, Iowa; the son of Arnold and Wilma (Lange) Bublitz.
He was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar.

He worked as a mechanic for John Deere in Lawler and Corydon, Iowa, before
starting his own business.

He is survived by his son Dennis Oakland and wife Heather of Northwood,
Iowa, and daughter Deborah Anderson of Mankato, Minnesota. Survivors
also include his father Arnold Bublitz, of the Good Samaritan Center in
St. Ansgar, his brother Robert Bublitz and wife Pat of St. Ansgar,
his sister Shirley Sheets and husband Curtis of Iowa City, his sister
Delores Trettin and husband Richard of St. Ansgar; and an aunt, Eleanor
Boerjan of St. Ansgar.

He was preceded in death by his mother Wilma Bublitz and nephew Curtis
Bublitz.
