OBITUARY: Ruth Ann (Clark) Tubbs, 1861-1934, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Osage News, Osage Iowa] Mrs. Chas. Tubbs Died Friday After Lingering Illness Ruth Ann Clark was born March 16, 1861 in Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa and passed to her reward Friday morning, Feb 16, 1934 at the family home at 611 Park street. She was the daughter of Thomas and Jane Clark. When she was 6 years of age she went to live with her grandparents near Stoughton, Wis., but returned to this county in 1880. Her marriage to Charles J. Tubbs took place February 22 1881 at Osage and the couple lived on a farm near here for thirty-eight years. They moved into town in 1919 and have lived here since. Mrs. Tubbs joined the Baptist church in Wisconsin in her young womanhood. Both she and he husband became members of the Methodist church in Osage before their marriage and continued this church relation here except for a few years when they transferred to the Methodist church at Mitchell. Later they again reunited with the local Methodist church and have been members for more than fifty-two years. She is survived by her husband; three sons: Clayton E. of Floyd, John Ray and Earl C. of Osage, and one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Coonradt of Waverly, there are two adopted daughters, Mrs. Perry Galley of Kenyon Minn, and Mrs. Earnest Parr of Osage. Three sisters also survive: Mrs. John Tibbetts, Riceville, Mrs. Herman Chidester of Stoughton Wis, and Mrs. Lizzie Ball of Osage, two brothers Ed Clark, Osage, and William Clark who lived in Pennsylvania; also eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Tubbs lived within one month of her 73rd birthday. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at the Champion funeral home, conducted by Dr. Sylvester E.
