OBITUARY: Julia (Duponcheele) Lambaere, 1914-2003, Mitchell Co., Iowa [ Adapted from: Mitchell County-Press-News online - Posted Oct. 8, 2003 ] Julia Lambaere A Mass of Resurrection for Julia Lambaere was celebrated on Monday, October 6 at the St. Ansgar Catholic Church, with Rev. Mark Reasoner officiating. Burial followed at the St. Ansgar Cemetery. Julia passed away on Thursday, October 2 at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Julia was born on October 8, 1914 near Carpenter. She was the oldest child of Jules and Alida Duponcheele. She married George Lambaere on July 24, 1934 at Visitation Church in Stacyville. They raised their family of four on a farm near St. Ansgar. They retired to St. Ansgar in 1985. Julia enjoyed farming, traveling, flowers, vacationing with family in Alexandria, Minnesota, cooking for friends, the Democrat party, dancing and helping those in need. She was very active in her Church. Julia became a resident of Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar in 1997 and Faith Home in 2001. Julia will be missed by her children; Joanne Wilder (Tom) Mason City, Iowa; George (Terri) Lambaere, Owatonna, Minnesota; Kathy McNitt (Russ) Wyoming, Minnesota; and Mary Lou Kennedy, Osage, Iowa. Grandchildren include: Matthew and Christopher Wilder; Matthew, Emily and John Lambaere; Craig, Mark and Jeff McNitt and David, John and Steven Kennedy. She has five great-grandchildren: Phillip, Christine, Taylor and Cassie McNitt and Olivia Kennedy. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Erma Duponcheele of Stacyville. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, George, who passed away in 2000, her parents, Alida and Jules; her sisters, Martha Duponcheele and Laura Vervaecke and brother, Robert Duponcheele.
