                       Former Resident Here Died

Funeral Services will be held for John Erbe, 70, a former Osage resident
who died Monday at his home in Cabool, MO.

                      John Erbe, 70, of Cabool, MO
                         Died, Burial in Osage

Funeral services were held last Thursday in Cabool, Missouri for a former
resident of Mitchell County, John Erbe 70, who died in Cabool Jan. 19. The
Rev. Douglas Sleade was in charge of the services there. The body was
brought to Osage for burial Friday, and in charge of the graveside rites
was the Rev. Robert F. Smith, pastor of the Methodist church in Osage.

John Henry Erbe was born Aug. 13 1894 in Mitchell County, the son of
Henry and Mary Gast Erbe. He grew to manhood here and his marriage to
Mabel Wherry took place Dec 25 1921. The family moved to Missouri in 1950.

He was baptized at the Methodist church in Riceville, later becoming a
member of the same church in Cabool.

Surviving are his wife, Mabel; two sons, Don at home; John Dale of Osage;
two daughters, Mrs. James Kurtz of Willow Springs, MO; Mrs. Rex Gilmore
of Marysville, California; five grandchildren; three brothers, Welcome
Erbe of Albuquerque N.M., Harvey Erbe of Floyd, Carl Erbe of Mason City,
four sisters, Mrs. Tillman Williams of Caldwell Idaho, Mrs. Hovel Flatla,
Mrs. Earl Tubbs of Osage, and Mrs. Ole Peterson of Knob Knoster, Missouri.

Local relatives who attended funeral services for John Erbe in Cabool, MO
last Thursday included Dale Erbe of Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Erbe of
near Floyd, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tubbs of Osage, and Carl Erbe.
