OBITUARY: Mary Gaffney, Mitchell Co., Iowa


                       Mrs. Mary E. Gaffney

The death of Mrs. Mary E. Gaffney early Tuesday morning was a great
surprise and shock to her relatives and friends. Mrs. Gaffney's
daughter, Mrs. John Goodbrand, went to call her about 6:00 that
morning, but she failed to answer and it was found she had passed
suddenly away, perhaps about two hours previously. The deceased had
been in her usual health and on Monday did her washing.

The deceased was 63 years of age and was born in New York, but most
of her life has been spent in this county. First she lived on a farm
at Brownville, but of late years has made her home in Osage. Her
husband preceded her in death some twenty-five years ago.

Funeral services will be held at her late home on Main Street this
morning at 10:00, conducted by Rev. Cross, and the remains will be
taken to Brownville and laid to rest beside those of her husband.
