OBITUARY: John Koenigs, 1933-2003, Mitchell Co., Iowa

                              John Koenigs

A memorial mass was held at 12 noon Monday, October 6, 2003 at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church in Meyer, Iowa for John Koenigs, 70, of McIntire,
Iowa. Father Mark Reasoner officiated. Burial was in Sacred Heart
Cemetery in Meyer. John passed away Thursday, October 2, 2003 at
his residence after an extended illness.

John was born on September 30, 1933 to Paul and Marie Bissen Koenigs
at Meyer, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Bartlett on
September 25, 1954 at the Sacred Heart Church in Meyer, Iowa. "Big John"
was a retired farmer.

His father preceded him in death.

John's survivors include his wife Bonnie of McIntire, Iowa; three sons
Larry Koenigs and his wife Becky of Northfield, Minnesota; Russell Koenigs
and his wife Lee Ann of McIntire, Iowa and Richard Koenigs and his fiancee
Leanne Knoop of Marshalltown, Iowa; one daughter Nancy Ann Koenigs and
her husband Kevin Carlson of Lake City, Minnesota; eight grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren, his mother Marie Koenigs of Stacyville, Iowa;
three brothers Deo Koenigs and his wife Joan of St. Ansgar, Iowa;
Roman Koenigs and his wife Ruth of Waseca, Minnesota, and Jerry Koenigs
and his wife Sandy of McIntire; one sister Elaine Ramberg and her
husband Dan of Hugo, Minnesota.

Lindstrom Funeral Home of Riceville, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements.
