OBITUARY: Isaac Ernest Parr, 1886-1969, Mitchell Co., Iowa "Ike" Parr, 73, Died, Funeral Here Monday Funeral services for a retired Osage mail carrier, Isaac (Ike) Parr, 73, were held in Osage Monday afternoon. Mr. Parr died in Rochester Thursday after having undergone heart surgery earlier in the week. The Rev. Robert L. Smith, pastor of the M.E. church in Osage, was in charge of the services at the Champion Funeral Home. Burial was in the Osage cemetery. Military rites were conducted by the Memorial Squad of American Legion Post 278. Isaac Ernest Parr was born Jan. 23, 1886, in Willow Hill, Ill., the son of T.J. and Dora Lee Parr. He grew to manhood there. Jessie Edna Tubbs and Isaac Parr were united in marriage in Mitchell county Dec. 24, 1919. Most of the years of their marriage were spent in Osage. He retired several years ago after serving as a mail carrier for 40 years. Mr. Parr had been a member of the Rural Letter Carriers and was active in the American Legion here until he moved to Baudette, Minn. three years ago. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church. Surviving are his four children, Mrs. Willis Mouw (Bette) of Baudette, Minn.; Mrs. Emil Tonn (Virginia) of St. Paul; Kenneth Parr of Joliet, Ill.; Ernest of Riceville; 10 grandchildren, five sisters, and four brothers.
