OBITUARY: Warren & Marcella (Erbe) Pederson 1918/1922-1963, Mitchell Co., IA Item #1 (of 4 items) Warren and Marcella Pederson Combined funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Warren Pederson of Rural Osage were held last Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. Rev. John Quam, church pastor was in charge. Masonic rites for the couple were held at the graveside at the Osage Cemetery. Warren Pederson was born Dec. 30 1918 on a farm near Clear Lake, the son of J. Martin and Esther Ransom Pederson. He attended school at Clear Lake. He was confirmed at Deer Creek Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Osage Masonic Lodge, was in the Commandry, and was a past worthy patron of Eastern Star. He was active in the North Iowa Shrine club. He and Mrs. Pederson were members of the local Square Dance club. ------------------------------------ Item #2 Mrs. Marcella Pederson Marcella Erbe was born near Osage, Oct. 3, 1922, the daughter of Harvey and Marguerite Wherry Erbe. She was a graduate from Osage High School in 1940 and taught until her marriage. She was confirmed at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, and was an active member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church near their home. She was also a past worthy matron in Eastern Star, Bethany chapter. Marcella Erbe and Warren Pederson were married June 7 1942 and farmed in the immediate vicinity of Osage. Surviving Mr. and Mrs. Pederson are their three children; Michael 17, Mark, 14, and Marsha, 2, all at home. Warren Pederson is survived by his parents, formally of rural Osage, and now of Nora Springs, and one brother, Wayne Pederson of Lexington, KY. Surviving Mrs. Pederson are her parents of rural Floyd. ------------------------------------ Item #3 Thank-you: Many, many thanks to all our kind neighbors, friends and relatives for every kindness extended to us in our great sorrow. Until you have traveled such a heart-broken road you will never know what it means for everyone to extend such a helping hand. The ministers Rev. Quam and Hanson, the ladies of the Rock Creek church for serving lunch, the ladies of the Orchard community for serving dinner to relatives, the singers, the Masons, Ladies of the Star, all gifts of money, flowers, food, and cards of sympathy are gratefully acknowledged. Also Harold Strickers who took care of all our chores there. Such kindness can never be forgotten.
