OBITUARY: Margaret Eliza Calista (Casey) Plath, 1890-1981, Mitchell Co., IA [St. Ansgar Enterprise, 17 SEP 1981] Mrs. Margaret Plath Funeral Held Tuesday, September 8 Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret E. Plath, 91, who died September 3 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held September 8 at the Patterson-James-Sellergren Funeral chapel with the Rev. Paul Maguire, pastor of Holy Name Catholic church, Rockford, officiating. Margaret Eliza Calista Casey Plath, daughter of Bernard and Bertha (Daniels) Casey, was born July 10, 1890 near Elkader. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at Elkader. She moved to Mason City in 1915. March 26, 1916 she married Herman W. Plath. They made their home near Manly and the Grafton areas, later moving to Mason City. She had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center here since 1969. Mrs. Plath is survived by two sons, Cecil of Kensett and Virgil of Carman, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Verna) Hartwig of Mason City; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and three sisters. Burial was in the St. Joseph section of Elmwood cemetery in Mason City with Rev. Maguire in charge of committal services.
