OBITUARY: Darrel Rawhouser, 1946-2003, Mitchell Co., Iowa [ Mitchell County Press-News online - Posted June 18, 2003 ] Darrel Rawhouser Funeral services were for Darrel Edward Rawhouser age 56 of Riceville at the Riceville United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 14. The Reverend Michael Carey officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Riceville. Darrell passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 after an extended illness. Darrel Edward Rawhouser was born December 6, 1946 in Muscatine, IA to Harold and Betty Shontz Rawhouser. He grew up in the Columbus Junction area in Iowa and moved later to the Fort Madison area where he graduated from high school. He was united in marriage to Sue Oulman at the Congregational Church in Riceville. Darrel worked for the Ortho plant in Fort Madison until 1988 when he moved to Slidell, LA where he took a position with Chevron Corporation as an off shore oil rig operator until his retirement in 1997. Darrel enjoyed spending time with his family and going fishing. He was preceded in death by his daughter Darci in 1999, his parents Harold and Betty Rawhouser, one infant sister Glenda and a niece Jodi Oulman. Darrel's survivors include his wife Sue of Riceville; three daughters Elissa and Kendra Rawhouser, both of Riceville, Amy Rawhouser of Marion, IA. one son Andrew Rawhouser of Chicago, IL and his parents-in-law Ronald and Audrey Oulman of Riceville as well as many family and friends.
