OBITUARY: Millie Pearl (Barnett) Rohde, 1909-1981 , Mitchell County, Iowa [St. Ansgar Enterprise, 22 OCT 1981] Mrs. Millie P. Rohde Funeral Held At Mona Lutheran Church Funeral services for Mrs. Millie P. Rohde, 72, who died at her home in Mona October 6, were held October 10 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating. Millie Pearl (Barnett) Rohde was born May 5, 1909 in Bradley, S.D., the daughter of James and Eliza Barnett. She made her early home in Bradley and Webster, S.D. In July 1927 she moved to Austin, Minn. In the fall of 1937 she moved to Mona where she resided until her death. She attended school at the Webster Day County school in Webster, S.D. She married George H. Rohde November 2, 1925 at the Lutheran parsonage, Clark, S.D. She was a member of the Mona Lutheran church, Mona ALCW Circle 2, and enjoyed being a homemaker and mother and raising vegetables in her garden. Mrs. Rohde was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a granddaughter, a grandson, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Sylvan (Virginia) Faas, Mrs. Richard (Rosella) Hagelund, Mrs. Richard (Geraldine) Wodke, all of Mona and Miss Reta Rohde of Austin, Minn.; eight sons, Bernard Rohde, Randolph, Kan., Raymond and Olven Rohde of Mona, Clifford Rohde of Burt, Vergil Rohde of Madrid, Spain, LaVern Rohde of Wichita, Kan., Harold Rohde of Mason City and Duane Rohde of St. Paul, Minn., also 24 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Violet Czymowski of Webster, S.D.; nieces and nephews. Burial was in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Austin, Minn. with Rev. Grant in charge of the committal services.
