OBITUARY: Eugene Ervin Schulze, 1924-2003, Mitchell Co., Iowa [ Mitchell County Press-News online - Posted Oct. 22, 2003 ] Eugene Ervin Schulze Funeral service for Eugene Ervin Schulze, 79, of rural St. Ansgar were held Thursday, October 16, 2003 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville, with Rev. Dr. Elaine Siemsen officiating. Burial was in the St, Peter Cemetery, Toeterville. He died on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage, Iowa. Eugene was born the son of Ervin and Martha (Hofland) Schulze on June 26, 1924 in Union Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. He attended schools in Mitchell County. He farmed his entire life. Eugene was an avid fisherman. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville and remained a faithful lifelong member. He married Evelyn Qualley of Lake Mills at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, on September 1, 1968. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Eugene is survived by a sister, Arlene Anderson of St. Ansgar; a niece, Connie Rosenberg of St. Ansgar; a nephew, Steve Anderson of Story City; three great nephews and two great nieces; one uncle Gene Hofland of St. Ansgar.
