OBITUARY: Helen Rae (Tubbs) Appleton Frazier, 1916-1963, Mitchell Co., Iowa Former Osage Woman Dies in California Funeral services were held last Tuesday at the Little Church of the Flowers in Glendale, Calif., for Mrs. Jean T. Frazier, 47, who died in a hospital in Glendale, Sept. 6. The Rev. Arthur Slater was in charge and burial was in Forest Lawn cemetery. Mrs. Frazier, formerly of Osage, died of complications of a heart ailment. Helen Rae Tubbs was born in Osage, Mar. 12, 1916, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tubbs. She grew to womanhood here, attended the local schools, and was a member of the Baptist church. She was married to Jams Appleton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Appleton, Oct. 17, 1935. They lived in Osage, later moving to Cedar Rapids where her husband died. Her marriage to Jean T. Frazier took place May 21, 1959, in Cedar Rapids. They moved to Indianapolis and later to Glendale. Surviving are her husband, Jean, one daughter, Marian, Mrs. Roland Walker of Dowis; one son, James of Glendale; seven grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Bessie Tubbs of Osage; four sisters, Grace Tubbs, of Osage; Mrs. William Gardner. Mrs. John Tesar of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Melvin Warner of Davenport, and one brother, Rollin R. Tubbs of Osage. Preceding her in death were her first husband, her father, an infant brother, Merlyn, and one sister, Mrs. Cyril Cornwell.
