OBITUARY: Jessie Edna (Tubbs) Parr, 1892-1962, Mitchell Co., Iowa Mrs. Isaac Parr, 70, Dies After a Brief Illness Wednesday Funeral services were held last Friday for Mrs. Isaac Parr, 70, who died Aug. 15 at Mitchell Memorial Hospital in Osage. She was stricken at their home and was taken to the hospital, dying of a heart attack the same day. The Rev. Robert E. Leverenz, pastor of the Methodist Church Riceville, was in charge of the services at the Champion Funeral Home. Burial was made in the Osage Cemetery. Jessie Edna Tubbs was born Mar. 20, 1892 at Sherburn, Minn, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Tubbs. After the death of her parents when she was 2 years old, she lived with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tubbs. She was married to Isaac Parr Dec. 24 1919. Osage has always been their home. Mr. Parr served as a rural mail carrier 41 years. She was baptized and became a member of the Methodist Church when she was a young girl at Mitchell. She had been an active member of the church. Surviving are her husband, Isaac of Osage, four children. Ernest of Riceville; Kenneth of Joliet, Ill; Mrs. Emil Tonn of Reinbeck; Mrs. Willis Mouw of St. Ansgar; two sisters, Mrs. Perry Galley of Kenyon, Minn; Mrs. Ernest Coonradt of Waverly; three brothers, Ray, and Earl Tubbs of Osage; Clayton Tubbs of Floyd, and 10 grandchildren.
