OBITUARY: Mable (Blandin) Waters, 1890-1936, Mitchell Co., Iowa Mable Blandin Waters Mrs. Carroll Waters died early Saturday morning at the Cedar Valley hospital at Charles City, after an illness of only a few days. While Mrs. Waters had complained of a constant headache for the past three weeks, she was about as usual, and retired the evening before she was stricken apparently feeling no worse than usual. The illness came upon her some time during the night, and when she was found the next morning she was unconscious, and never regained her faculties. She was taken to the Cedar Valley hospital at Charles City where she died. Mable Blandin was born at Bailey, Iowa, in June, 1890, and lived her entire life in the county, mostly in the vicinity of Orchard, with the exception of six years. Her education was received in the Orchard school and the Cedar Valley Seminary, and she was married to Mr. Waters 22 years ago. They were parents of three children: Thelma, who died at the age of 8 years; and Vivian, 10, and Vinton, 16, who survive her, with the husband. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Blandin, and the following brothers and sisters: Vincent and Dudley, Orchard; Mrs. Howard Smalley and Kenneth, Osage; Harold, Mandan, North Dakota; Chester R., Des Moines; Jim, California. A sister, Mrs. Belle Knight, passed away several years ago, and a brother, Linton, more than twenty years ago. Funeral services were held at 1 pm Monday at the Champion Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. F.A. Court, of the Osage Methodist Church, and at 1:30 at the Orchard church.
