OBITUARY: Harvey Emil August Boettcher, 1909-2004, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Adapted from: Mitchell County-Press-News online - Posted Jan. 21, 2004] Harvey Emil August Boettcher Funeral service for Harvey Emil August Boettcher, 94, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, were held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. Harvey died on Jan. 14, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar, Iowa. Harvey was born on May 3, 1909 to Albert and Emma (Kronemann) Boettcher in Union Township, Worth County, Iowa. He was baptized on May 23, 1909 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, (Worth county, Iowa) with Henrietta Kruger, Emil Kronemann and August Volkman as sponsors. He was confirmed on April 13, 1934 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton. He attended school in Grafton. In his early years he was a member of the mens quartet who sang in the Grafton area. Harvey married Irene Rosenberg on October 19, 1939 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township. They farmed in the Grafton and St. Ansgar area until retiring to St. Ansgar in 1977. He entered the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar on March 3, 1999 and continued to enjoy flowers and plants in his room. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; wife Irene in 1997; five brothers. Harvey is survived by two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; special niece, Luella Pagel of Grafton and many other nieces and nephews.
