OBITUARY: Lola J. Brandau, 1924-2004, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Based on obituary in Mitchell County Press-News online, Posted July 28, 2004] Lola J. Brandau Funeral services for Lola J. Brandau, 79, of Osage, Iowa, were held Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, rural Osage, with Rev. R. Dawson Tornes officiating. Interment was in the Rock Creek Cemetery. Lola died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. Lola was born December 30, 1924, in Cedar Township, the daughter of Ole J. and Marie (Beagles) Johnson. She was educated in Dudley Country School. She was confirmed in 1943 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, rural Osage. Lola was united in marriage to Wilmer Brandau in 1944. They farmed for many years. They were later divorced. Lola worked as a cook at Osage Community Schools and at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. She enjoyed raising and showing horses with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and attending all of their events. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marie "Mim" Johnson. Lola is survived by her five children: James Brandau (Mary Ellen) of Waverly, Iowa, John Brandau (Christie) of Williamston, Michigan, JoAnn Brandau of Clear Lake, Iowa, Mark "Butch" Brandau (Marlene) of Maxwell, Merle Brandau (Barb) of Mason City; eight grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren; one sister, Olive Borchardt (Raymond) of Osage; and one brother, Louis Johnson (Alice) of Rudd.
