OBITUARY: Robert Byrnes, 1949-2004, Mitchell Co., Iowa

                            Robert Byrnes

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Blessed Sacrament
Catholic Church, Waterloo, Iowa, for Robert Byrnes, age 54, of Cedar
Falls, Iowa.  Father Dennis Juhl officiated and interment was in the
Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Dahl-Van-Hove School Funeral Home
in charge arrangements.

Robert died Friday, May 28, 2004 at Satori Memorial Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born July 20, 1949 in Osage the son of Erwin Bernard and JoAnne
Yager Byrnes. He attended St. Mary's School in New Haven and graduated
from Osage Community Schools, the University of Northern Iowa in 1971
and earned a Master's degree in music from UNI in 1974. He had taught
at UNI since 1972 in the School of Music and was also an administrative
assistant. He was campus carilloneur and was director of the UNI
Varsity Men's Glee Club.

Preceding him in death was his father; two brothers, Jonathon and
Jason and a sister Molly.

Those that survive him include his mother, JoAnne of Osage; three
brothers, James of San Diego, California, Mark and wife, Candace
of Oceanside, California, and Casey Joseph of Alameda, California,
and four sisters, Mary Cathryn Briles of Buhl, Idaho, Patricia Jo
Byrnes of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Dr. Jill Byrnes and husband, Kevin
Lange of Cedar Rapids; 10 nieces and nephews.
