OBITUARY: Galen Henry 'Bub' Conrad, 1940-2004, Mitchell Co., Iowa

Funeral services for Galen Henry "Bub" Conrad, age 63 of Riceville, Iowa,
were held Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004 at the United Methodist Church in
Riceville. Pastor Michael Carey officiated.

Galen died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004 at the Riceville Rest Home after a
lengthy battle with cancer.

Bub was born on April 4, 1940, the son of Carl and Dora (Bird) Conrad,
in Liberty Township, Mitchell, Iowa. He attended school in Little
Cedar and graduated in 1958.

He was united in marriage to Frances (Ray) Armstrong on Aug. 17, 1973.
The couple resided in Little Cedar until 1976 when they moved to Riceville.

Galen was preceded in death by his parents.

His survivors include his wife Fran, of 30 years, three children Steven
(Judy) Armstrong of Fort Worth, Texas, Teresa (Mark) Klein of Riceville,
and Barbra Hoglan of Fort Worth, Texas, seven grandchildren, two
great-grandchildren, two sisters Maryann (Roger) Schnell of Osage, Iowa,
and Sandy (Dan) Vitek of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, one brother Dennis
(Deb) Conrad of Little Cedar, Iowa, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
