OBITUARY: William Herman Dieterichs, 1873-1950, Mitchell Co., Iowa From: St Ansgar Enterprise; Dec 7, 1950. FUNERAL SERVICES FOR WM H. DIETERICHS HELD NOVEMBER 29 Funeral services were held on last Wednesday afternoon, November 29, at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville for William H. Dieterichs who died on November 27 at Albert Lea, Minnesota. Mr. Dieterichs had been in ill health for the past several months. The Rev E. C. Meyer officiated at the services and burial was in the Rock Township Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbears were Albert Perau, Fred Schultz, Kenneth Zuehl, Orval Trettin, Ed Bruggeman and Earl Westrem. William Herman Dieterichs was born in Cedar Township, Iowa on Oct 11, 1873 to Louis Dieterichs and his wife Augusta. He was baptized in infancy and later confirmed in Rock Creek Lutheran Church by Pastor Healbeg. On September 20, 1892 he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Kirchgatter, and they made their home on a farm southwest of At. Ansgar, until 1919 when they moved to Toeterville, where they united with the St. Peter's Church. Five children were born of this union, Ida of Osage, Laura of Albert Lea, Freda of Grafton, and Ervin of Toeterville. One child died in infancy. Besides a widow and children mentioned, he is survived by two brothers, Fred and Herman, three sisters, Mrs. Robert Rosenberg, Mrs. Minnie Hartwig adn Mrs. Otto Borchardt, also three half sisters, eigth grandchildren, also manu other relatives and freinds. Some fifty four years ago he met with an accident which resulted in blindness so he spent the greater part of his life under handicap.
