OBITUARY: Charles Richard Engebretson, 1924-2004, Mitchell Co., Iowa (Based on obituary in Mitchell County Press online, July 7, 2004) Charles Engebretson Charles Richard Engebretson, 79, of Osage, Iowa, died suddenly on Saturday, July 3, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Charles was born July 10, 1924 in Waverly, the son of Ed and Alice (Richardson) Engebretson. He attended schools in St. Ansgar, Iowa, and in Osage. Charles was united in marriage to Donna Eastman on Nov. 5, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. During his life he was employed by Oliver in Charles City, drove semi truck for Rich Jahnel of New Haven, Iowa, and worked for John Deere in Osage for 25 years. Funeral services was held Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. Interment was in the Osage Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Donna of Osage; by three children Linda Busse and husband Paul of Good Thunder, Minnesota, Forrest Engebretson and wife MaLinda of Mapleton, Minnesota; and LaDonna Ogden and husband Dan of Osage; by seven grandchildren Rosemary and James Busse, Charles, Joshua, Ryan and Kyle Engebretson and Devin Ogden; by two sisters Mary-Lou (Walt) Martin of Humboldt, and Joan Engebretson of Osage; and by one sister-in-law Alta Mae Engebretson of Springfield, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, by one brother Merlin Engebretson; by two sisters Edith Dolson and Edna Wieland; by two brothers-in-law Garland Dolson and Fred Wieland, Jr. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
