OBITUARY: Mildred Christine Feldt, c1916-2004, Mitchell Co., Iowa [From Mitchell County-Press-News online (Edited); Posted May 12, 2004 ] Mildred Christine Feldt Funeral services for Mildred Christine Feldt, 88, of Mason City, Iowa, formerly of St. Ansgar, were held Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar. Mildred died Saturday, May 8, 2004 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City. Mildred married Edward A. Feldt in 1934 and to this union, one son and three daughters were born. They owned and operated elevators in Carpenter, Meltonville, and St. Ansgar for many years until they sold out and purchased the Benson farm south of St. Ansgar, where they farmed for many years before retiring and moving into St. Ansgar. After she lost Edward in 1980, she and Suzie stayed in St. Ansgar until 1990 when they moved to Mason City to be closer to her other daughter. Mildred was a very loving and devoted mother and spent 64 years of her life caring for her disabled daughter "Suzie" until she lost her in June of 2001. She had such a beautiful and special bond with each one of her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Suzie, brother Maurice Thompson and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Left to cherish her memory are her son William Feldt of Albany, Missouri; and daughters Sherlyn Phares of Escondido, California, and Donna Jamison of Mason City. Also nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Marion Feldt, Helen Feldt, and Maxine Thompson, and several nieces and nephews.
