OBITUARY: Dean W. "Porky" Gilles, 1915-2004, Mitchell Co., Iowa

                            Dean W. Gilles

A funeral mass for Dean W. Gilles of Bradenton, Florida, was celebrated
Monday, Jan. 5, 2004 at St. Bernard Catholic Church located in Holmes
Beach, Florida.  Father John Ellis officiated. Gilles died Dec. 31, 2003
at Blake Hospital.

Dean "Porky" Gilles was born in Osage, Iowa, May 16, 1915. He came to
Manatee County from Clear Lake, Iowa, in 1973. Dean owned and operated
The Ritz Supper Club for 36 years prior to his retirement. He was a
charter member of the Holy Name Society of St. Bernard Parish and a
fervent participant in all fund raising activities.

His suvivors include his wife Pat of 63 years, two sons, Jack of
Clear Lake, Iowa, and Tom of Prescott, Wisconsin, daughter Barbara Leith
of Ames, Iowa, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
