OBITUARY: Perry Daniel Hockens, 1890-1932, Mitchell Co., Iowa Perry Hockens Perry Daniel Hockens was born May 4, 1890, north of McIntire, where he spent his boyhood days, later moving to McIntire. On November 4, 1909, he was united in marriage to Stella Rambo. To this union were born two girls, Leone and Ida Blythe. Leone passed away at the age of three years, the mother following the daughter two years later. May 17, 1918, Mr. Hockens married Geneva Tibbets. To this union were born three sons, Lorain, Howard, and Larry. Mr. Hockens, living in this community most of his life, is well known. He worked for the Chicago Great Western railway for the last seventeen years as section foreman. His health has been poorly for the last year, becoming worse the last five months. June 20, he was taken to Iowa City to the hospital, where he was given the best medical aid that could be obtained, but to no avail. God made his call at 3 pm, June 25, 1932. Mr. Hockens passed away at the age of 42 years, 1 month, 21 days, leaving to mourn his death his wife, four children - Ida Blythe, Lorain, Howard and Larry; his mother, Mrs. Edith Hockens, one sister, Mrs. Pearl Robbins, other relatives and a host of friends.
