OBITUARY: Roberta M. (Smith) Pelleymounter, 1925-2004, Mitchell Co., Iowa [From Mitchell County-Press-News online (Edited); Posted June 2, 2004] Roberta M. Pelleymounter Mass of Christian Burial for Roberta M. Pelleymounter, age 78, of Osage, Iowa, was held Saturday, May 29, 2004 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. Mark Reasoner officiating. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Osage. Roberta died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center-Hospice Unit in Osage. Roberta was born October 7, 1925, in Colwell, the daughter Leo and Minnie (Herzog) Smith. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Charles City. On June 17, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert Pelleymounter in Charles City. They lived in Osage their entire married life. Robert died in 1989. Roberta was employed at Salsbury in Charles City, then Pfaltzgraff Plumbing and Heating in Osage and for 27 years as a radio dispatcher for the Osage Police Department and then the Mitchell County Communications Center, retiring in 1999. Roberta was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Ladies Guild and the Covenant Choir. She belonged to the Osage American Legion Auxiliary and the Osage V.F.W. Auxiliary. Roberta was very active in her church and had a strong faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Robert Pelleymounter in 1989. Roberta is survived by four daughters, Ann (Joe) Longo of Jacksonville, Florida, Carol Newton of Osage, Julie (Jeff) Voaklander of Osage and Dawn (Bill) Johanns of New Haven; two sons, Gregory (Vandy) Pelleymounter of Venice, Florida, and Charles (Cindy) Pelleymounter of Madison, Wis.; 17 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Bernadette Madsen of Long Beach, Calif., Betty Marth of Charles City, Sharon (Alan) Davidson of Charles City, Jan Pull of Colorado Springs, Colo., and her twin brother Bob Smith of Osage.
