OBITUARY: Susanna E. Shupe, 1851-1913, Mitchell County, Iowa Susanna E. Shupe Susanna E. Shupe was born August 7, 1851, at Owenstown, Canada, and died at Jamestown, North Dakota, August 30, 1913. She was the second daughter of William and Nancy Shupe. At the age of two years she came with her parents to Decorah, Iowa, and in 1865 the family moved to McIntire. On June 5th of the same year she was united in marriage to Henry Farnam of Lime Springs. To this union eight children were born, as follows: William, Ed, Frank, Charles, George, Grace, Arthur, and Roberta, all of whom with their father are left to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. Mrs. Farnam was converted in 1867 and united with the Christian church, and later when she returned to McIntire she united with the Baptist church and has since remained a faithful member of that denomination. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Bodenham at the Baptist church Thursday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in the Wayne cemetery.
