OBITUARY: Jeanette (Siple) Waters, 1889-1937, Mitchell Co., Iowa Jeanette Siple Waters Jeanette Siple was born December 22, 1889, in Rapid City, South Dakota, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Siple. When she was 5 years old the family moved to Tipton, Iowa. A few years later they moved near Clarence, Iowa, where she finished school and taught three years. In 1910 she moved with her parents to McIntire, Iowa. She taught two years, one in McIntire and one in Riceville, Iowa. She was a member of the Methodist church of McIntire. On December 11, 1912, she was married to Robert Waters, and four children were born to them: Olla, George, Guy and a baby who died at birth. The first four years of their married life were spent near McIntire. In the fall of 1916 they moved to Mr. Waters' father's farm north of Postville, Iowa, where they lived until the spring of 1922 when they moved onto the farm where the home now is and where Nettie passed away February 15, 1937, at the age of 47 years, 1 month and 22 days. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and three children: Olla, George and Guy; her mother, Mrs. Emma Siple, of McIntire; two sisters, Mrs. Beula Urbatsch, of Grafton; and Mrs. Martha Harshbarger, of McIntire; one brother, Everett Siple, of Long Beach, California, and numerous friends and other relatives. Funeral services were held at Postville and McIntire on Monday, February 15, conducted by the Rev. Frank Galloway, pastor of Postville Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. F.M.
