OBITUARY: Ruth B. Stolt, 1911-2004, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Adapted from: Mitchell County-Press-News online - Posted Feb. 18, 2004] Ruth B. Stolt Funeral services for Ruth B. Stolt, 92, of 909 Loretta Ave., Waterloo, Iowa, were held at 11:00 am Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004 at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, Iowa, with Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. Graveside Services were conducted by Pastor Dearl Thomas at 2:30 pm Tuesday at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to the family. Ruth died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage from cancer. She was born July 4, 1911, on a farm near Independence, Iowa. She was the daughter of Howard and Lillie Mae Steele. Ruth moved to Waterloo in 1929 where she met her husband Stanley F. Stolt. They were married in Stillwater, Minnesota, on July 25, 1931. They built and operated Happy Days Resort at Cross Lake, Minnesota. for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in Sept. 1988, and her daughter, Loretta Joy Stolt of Waterloo in May 1987. Also preceding her in death were 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Left to cherish her memories are her two children, Janet Jorgensen and her husband Wilmer of Osage and Stan Stolt of Sacramento, California. She has two grandchildren, Julie Beghtel Oettel and her husband, Dave, of Littleton, Colorado, and Steven Beghtel of Sarasota, Florida. There is one great-granddaughter Katelyn Marie Beghtel of Sarasota, Florida, and one niece and one nephew. Champion-Funeral Home, Osage (641)-732-3706 was in charge or arrangements.
