OBITUARY: Edmund Weber, 1914-2003, Mitchell Co., Iowa [Adapted from: Mitchell County-Press-News online - Posted Dec. 31, 2003 ] Edmund Weber Funeral services for Edmund Mathew Weber, age 89, of Stacyville, Iowa, were held Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003 at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville. Father Mark Reasoner officiated. Interment was in the Visitation Cemetery in Stacyville, with military honors by Stacyville American Legion Post 569. Edmund died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home. Edmund Weber was born April 22, 1914 in Stacyville, the son of Joseph and Anna (Gilgenbach) Weber. He grew up and attended schools in Stacyville. Edmund served in World War II. Following his discharge, he worked for Oliver/White Farm for 30 years until his retirement in April 1978. He was married to Virginia Rose Adams at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville on May 14, 1946. To this union was born three children, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Kenneth Weber, Gilbert Weber, and Al (Shorty) Weber. Edmund survivors include his wife Virginia Weber of Stacyville, three sons Denny Weber and his wife Linda of Cedar Rapids and their children Chad Weber and Nicole Kemp, Tom Weber of Robins, Don Weber and his wife Sue of Stacyville and their children Jackie Hanna and Chris Weber, one sister Theresa Blake of Stacyville, two brothers Leo Weber and wife Marge of Charles City, Sylvester Weber of Marshalltown, and four great-grandchildren.
