OBITUARY: Jessie Bloes, 1902-1995, Mitchell County, Iowa [MASON CITY (Iowa) GLOBE GAZETTE - August 8, 1995] Jessie Bloes OSAGE--Jessie Bloes, 93, of Oxnard, Calif., formerly of Osage and Waterloo, died Wednesday (Aug. 2, 1995) at her daughter's home in Oxnard, Calif. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, with the Rev. Dennis Cahill officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday at the Champion Funeral Home. Jessie Bloes was born July 18, 1902, on the family farm north of Osage to William Cummings and Clara Cummings (nee) Bird. She was educated in the Osage Schools. She married John Bloes on Jan. 15, 1923, in Osage. They lived for a short time in Osage, then moved to Waterloo where John was employed by John Deere. Jessie moved to California after John's death in 1983. She lived with her daughter, Kathryn. She is survived by her daughter, (Mrs. Ernest) Kathryn Sampson of Oxnard, Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Clara Tyler of Osage; Martha Haehn of Grand Meadow, Minn.; Frances Diedrich of Burlington, Wis., and Ellen Enfield of LeRoy, Minn.; and one brother Ralph Cummings of Osage.
