OBITUARY: Donovan Ray Carroll, 1931-1996, Mitchell County, Iowa (Edited) from Mason City Globe Gazette, Mason City, Iowa, February 22, 1996 Donovan Ray Carroll AUSTIN, Minnesota--Donovan Ray Carroll, 64, of 702 13th Ave. S.W., Austin, died Monday (Feb. 19, 1996) at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Austin, with the Rev. Andrew M. Lindahl officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Toeterville, Iowa. Donovan Carroll was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Mona, Iowa, to Milford and Wilma (DeMaris) Carroll. He graduated from Lyle High School in 1950, where he lived until moving to Austin in 1964. He married Audrey Langrock on June 2, 1956, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Toeterville, Iowa. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Austin; Olaf B. Damm Post #1216 and Lyle American Legion. He loved to fish and hunt and was involved in sports all of his life. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Carroll of Austin.; sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Sue Carroll of Robbinsdale, Todd and Heather Carroll of Bloomington; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Todd Johnson of Bloomington; three granddaughters, Heather and Erica Johnson of Bloomington, and Tessa Carroll of Robbinsdale; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lynette Carroll of Austin; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Alm of Austin, Sandra and Manley Berg, of White Bear Lake; aunt, Agnes DeMaris of Bolan, Iowa; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Honorary bearers will be Howard Ellsworth, William Bell, Maynard Penning, Gene Spence, Jim Spence and Harold Johnson. Pallbearers will be Jon Berg, Jason Berg, Dennis Hanson, John Westendorf, Art Draayer and Patrick Draayer. The Clasen-Jordan Mortuary was in charge of arrangments.
