OBITUARY: Peter Field, 1883-1969, Mitchell County, Iowa Peter Field Funeral services for Peter Field, age 85, were held at Rock Creek Lutheran church, rural Osage on Monday November 10th. Mr. Field died at his home in Mason City on November 6th. The Rev. Donald Berg, church pastor, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Thore Larson, brother of Mrs. Field. Peter Field was born on December 7, 1883 at the farm home in Cedar Township, Mitchell County. He was one of four sons of Ole P. and Inger Olson Fjelde. He was baptized at Rock Creek Lutheran church by the Rev. Johan Olson and his confirmation took place at Bethlehem Lutheran church in Clear Lake. He received his public school education in the rural schools in Cedar Township. He was married to Laura Larson at Jackson, Minnesota, on March 25, 1941. They lived on the home farm in active farming and semi-retirement until they moved to Mason City in 1959. He was hospitalized during the spring of this year and again in late summer and early fall, but had returned home. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Oscar and Martin. Surviving are his wife, Laura, one brother, Carl and several nieces and nephews. Copyright 2004, Steve Norby
